We will create an email list of scientists and educators from around Colorado who are willing to occasionally respond publicly to assaults on evolutionary theory or its instruction in our schools. Responses could be in the form of letters to the editor, Op-Ed pieces, or volunteering to present a lesson to students at a public school. For example, if a letter to the editor in the Denver Post proclaims that evolutionary theory has no basis in science (or that "intelligent design" does), a member reading the letter can send out an alert to all members. When a member decides to respond by writing a letter to the editor, that member should let other CERT members know. If a member teaches a class on evolution at their local school, they should let other members know how it went (what worked and didn't work). Second, we will also provide contact information of a small subgroup of CERT members to local media as resources that they can contact when information on evolutionary theory (or its impact on medicine, agriculture, etc) is needed. Finally, we will develop a web site to help promote our agenda and disseminate items that the group writes, as well as track and organize relevant media items.
